Become a Call Buddy
Time & Location
Being a call buddy serves as a vital lifeline to thousands of older adults in the UK. We've created a new Befriender scheme to continue the critical work to build social connections between the generations during the pandemic - a time when face-to-face contact is no longer a safe option.
Social isolation can have critical consequences on any one of us in terms of mental health so now, more than ever, building community bonds and interacting with each other over the phone can make a real difference in someone's life and let's them know that you care!
This scheme is in partnership with the NHS Suffolk & Essex, but we are calling for volunteers from across the UK.
- To call an isolated person once or twice per week for four weeks - if you enjoy it, there is no time limit.
- Calls begin once we have assigned you a match.
- Phone calls are to take place between 10:30am and 19:00pm at your convenience.
Further information will be provided on sign up, if you have any questions email firstname.lastname@example.org.
