An opportunity to engage with your community through the grassroots community group addressing food insecurity in Ipswich, Suffolk. 

The Bus Shelter

The Bus Shelter is a hunger program which provides food parcels for vulnerable families and rough sleepers with a warm, dry and safe environment in their refurbished double decker buses. They send over 100 food parcels a week that are delivered by volunteer drivers who want to help fight poverty and hunger in Suffolk. 

Volunteer Tasks

Help deliver food parcels to vulnerable families across Suffolk, this could be just one or as many as you can help with. 

Help collect food donations from shops such as Sainsbury's. 

We will add you to our text message system and text you when we have parcels that need delivering and to which Ipswich postcode, if you can help - just text back YES. If you can no longer help - just text back STOP.

Additional Info

  • The Bus Shelter is located just after Bourne Stores and before the petrol station
  • Food parcels can be collected from The Bus Shelter between 12pm and 3pm
  • Take what you can, even if it is just one parcel
  • Please wear a mask when collecting and delivering
